2026 API-653 Storage Tank Project – Solomon Islands
PAUT Inspection Supports Critical Storage Tank Renovation in the Solomon Islands
Our team recently provided Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) services as part of an API 653 storage tank renovation project in the Solomon Islands, supporting the country’s government-owned oil company.
The project involved the refurbishment of critical fuel storage infrastructure to increase fuel supply capacity, improve operational reliability and provide greater redundancy within the national fuel storage network.
PAUT was used to inspect critical welds and areas of the tank renovation, providing detailed ultrasonic examination and reliable detection of potential weld defects. The technology enabled efficient inspection while providing high-quality, recordable data for assessment and reporting.
Projects such as this demonstrate the important role that advanced NDT and inspection technology plays in maintaining ageing infrastructure and ensuring the integrity of critical fuel storage assets.
We are proud to contribute our specialist NDT expertise to infrastructure projects that directly support energy security and supply resilience in the Pacific region.
